Foster Care Resources.
Faith Fosters Texas provides numerous resources in support of churches that want to care for vulnerable children and families. You can access these resources by registering with Faith Fosters Texas.
A partial list of resources include:
Faith: This short guide is directed to ministry leaders to provide a case of support for engaging in this ministry. This includes where to find needed information, next steps, and suggestions for leading your church to fulfill the James 1:27 mandate.
Fellowship: A four-session asset-mapping exercise that will result in a ministry action plan. Many churches want to get involved but don't know where to start. This is a great exercise to identify a launch point.
Family: Based off the picture given in Ecclesiastes 4 of a "cord of three strands," this guide provides a formalized process for churches to wrap around families in their own church who have taken, or are getting ready to take placement of a child into their home.
reNEW: What about the family that has experienced loss due to the removal of a child? What is the church's responsibility to them? This guide provides guidance to churches that wish to engage the biological family that has experienced or is at risk of the removal of a child by DFPS. Coming in 2020.
Champions: While ministerial staff need to be aware of and in favor of this ministry, it will require a champion from within the church to drive this initiative. This guide will assist champions as they take on operational leadership of this ministry. Coming in 2020.
